BLUEBERRY PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE-TINI

Who says gin, vodka, & vermouth are the only liquids worthy of a martini glass?  I made a post-bike ride/pre-workout smoothie the other day & decided to drink it from this funky glass (which has never had a martini in it).  This is the simplest smoothie I make.  It has only 4 ingredients & makes a wonderful breakfast or snack.  For breakfast, I would double the ingredients listed below.  Everything about this is flexible, so add or subtract as you see fit. :)

INGREDIENTS (yield = apx 1 cup)
1/4 cup oatmeal (use Gluten-free if needed)
~1/3 cup frozen* blueberries
~1/3 cup frozen* pineapple
2 Tbsp vanilla yogurt (or plain)
water to fill the blender cup
*if you have fresh fruit, add some ice

PREPARATION
Add all of the ingredients to a blender cup or blender.  I used a 12 oz blender cup.
Blend!

Optional Upgrades
  • Add nuts (ex, 3 whole almonds for the ingredients quantities above)
  • Add more fruit.
  • If you like protein powders, add one with all natural ingredients.  (I avoid soy & whey, so no more protein powders for me.)
  • Add some fresh spinach.  If you omit the oatmeal, you may taste the spinach more; oatmeal mellows out the spinach.
  • Use milk instead of water to fill the cup for more protein.
  • Add a natural sweetener of your choice if you prefer a sweeter drink.

  1. mmm..... yum! im doing something similar at work (restaurant). And using frozen blueberries instead of ice- so when your drink melts it flavors up rather than water down. by the way... this is a B one too: http://justhadass.blogspot.com/p/yummies.html
